4-door, 7-passenger sport utility vehicles (SUV). The
Highlander Hybrid is available in 4 trims, the base and
Limited in 2 wheel drive (4X2) or 4 wheel drive (4X4)
configuration. It is equipped with Toyota's Hybrid
Synergy Drive with a standard 3.3 liters, V6 engine and
a high torque electric drive motor-generator that
delivered a total systems peak output of 268 HP.
The 2006 Toyota Hybrid is classified as an Full Hybrid,
this mean it can operate with a combination of gas
engine and electric motor, or independently on either
gas or electric only, this technology also available in
Toyota Prius. The 2006 Toyota Hybrid is capable of
performance from 0 to 60 mph in 7.3 seconds and with a
standard towing capacity of 3,500 pounds.
